Questions and Choices (sonnet)

I want brighter nights and dimmer sun lights,
Warmer winters and colder summer nights,
I want my wrongs to eventually be rights,
Forget about peace and have some small fights.

Why do we choose all the choices we choose?
Why is this journey the one we embark?
Who decides when we win or when we lose?
Why can’t we drive when we've set it in park?

Fly where they swim; attend uninvited,
Don’t pretend that something silver is gold,
Dance when you’re sad, nervous, or delighted,
Do what you want and not what you are told.

Time’s often said to be of the essence

Don’t depart before leaving your presence.
